General Information

Apart from the advertising described below, the app COTW Clicker does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data as defined in Article 4(1) GDPR. There is no analysis of your usage and no sharing of data with third parties.

Data on your device

All grinds, counters, click histories, and settings are stored exclusively in a database on your device. The app itself does not transmit this data to anyone. Statistics images that you share via the share function or save to your photo library only leave the app when you explicitly choose to do so.

Please note: if iCloud Backup is enabled on your device, the operating system may include the app's data in your iCloud backup. This backup is the responsibility of the operating system; Apple's privacy policy applies to it. You can manage or disable device backup in your iOS settings.

Advertising

The app shows advertising provided by Google AdMob, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Only non-personalized ads are displayed: your interests and your usage behavior are not used to select the ads shown to you. The app does not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, does not access the advertising identifier (IDFA) for tracking, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites; for this reason, no tracking prompt is displayed.

To deliver non-personalized ads, Google still processes limited data: your IP address (to determine your approximate, country-level location and for fraud prevention), device and usage information, and data about your interaction with ads (e.g., that an ad was shown or tapped). Google may also store or read an identifier on your device, which is used solely for frequency capping (limiting how often you see the same ad) and fraud prevention — not for building an advertising profile.

If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent via Google's consent dialog on first launch. In these regions, the legal basis for storing and accessing information on your device and for the related data processing is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG, the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act implementing Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive). Without consent, no advertising is shown there. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time with effect for the future: in the app under Settings → Privacy settings.

Outside the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland we likewise show only non-personalized advertising; the legal basis there is our legitimate interest in financing the app through advertising revenue (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

In the course of this, data may be transferred to the United States. Google relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, of which Google is a member, for this transfer (Article 45 GDPR).

Purchasing the Pro Version removes all advertising from the app.

In-App Purchases

The app offers the Pro Version, a one-time (non-consumable) purchase that removes all advertising. The purchase is processed entirely by Apple via the App Store; the developer does not receive any payment data, only the information that the purchase was made. This purchase status is stored locally on your device. The legal basis for processing the purchase is the performance of the contract for the acquisition of the Pro Version (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Please refer to Apple's privacy policy for details on how Apple processes purchase data.

Storage period

Your data remains stored on your device until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app; this also applies to your consent choice and the purchase status. Data included in a device backup is subject to the retention terms of the backup provider (Apple) and may outlast an uninstall. The retention of advertising data by Google is governed by the periods stated in Google's privacy policy; we have no influence over this.

Technical Data

When downloading the app, data may be processed by the app store (Apple App Store). The developer has no influence over these processes. Please refer to the privacy policy of the respective provider.

External Links

The app contains links to external websites (e.g., for rating the app in the App Store). When you open these links, you leave the app and the privacy policy of the respective provider applies. The app itself does not transmit any data to these providers.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to rectification, to erasure, to restriction of processing, to data portability, and to object to processing. You can also withdraw any consent you gave for advertising at any time with effect for the future (see the "Advertising" section).

Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht), Promenade 27, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
